Advancement & originality

Our team has always shared a keen interest in academic research and technical advancement. This commitment is exemplified in a number of our completed internal research projects – all spearheaded by our lead engineer, Dejan Erdevicki. Erdevicki Structural System (ESS)

In 1995, Dejan Erdevicki patented a powerful girder design system. The patent was issued as ‘special girder’ number AT404482B, and entails a system design applicable to pedestrian and highway bridges, as well as long-span roof structures. This design can be used royalty free. Please contact us if you wish to use the system, and we can provide you with further information & technical advice.

Design Procedure for Ductile Tension-Only Bracing with an Energy Dissipation Ring

In 2007, Dejan Erdevicki created a ductile, tension–only seismic bracing system with an energy dissipation ring. This design utilizes a ring and rod structure with customizable bracing stiffness and capacity. It acts as a structural element with considerable seismic load-resisting capacity. Brace testing and research was conducted by a UBC team from 2011 - 2013, utilizing a steel testing frame generously contributed by L.E. Steel Fabricators Ltd.

The Design Procedure for Ductile Tension-Only Bracing with an Energy Dissipation Ring was developed by Dejan Erdevicki in 2015, and presented during the 11th Canadian Conference on Earthquake Engineering (July 21st - 24th, 2015). The design procedure was later published in the Challenge Journal of Structural Mechanics on March 15th, 2016.

The Erdevicki Keel

The Erdevicki Keel is a unique trapezoidal keel design created by Dejan and Ivan Erdevicki in 2003. The keel design aims to increase vessel speed and efficiency by optimizing the keel through decreased drag and increased control. The design was presented at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (November 2003) and was published in Yachting World and Pacific Yachting magazines in the following year (2004).
