The Pedestrian Bridge Design Group is a newly established branch of ERD Structural Engineering Inc., offering a fresh and adaptable approach to the pedestrian bridge design and building process. The Pedestrian Bridge Design Group employs an integrated and interdisciplinary approach to bridge creation, through a focus on individualized and optimized concept design. Established with the intent of increasing both accessibility and creativity within the pedestrian bridge design process, we provide a new perspective to the development process, and value the brilliance in turning a vision into crafted reality.
The Structural Design Package
Concept meetings and the preliminary design process bring individualization and optimization to the centre of every bridge project. The complete structural design package features sealed drawings and letters of assurance, as required for development and building permit applications. Field review services and structural engineering site inspections are included during construction. ERD Structural Engineering Inc. offers four stages in the pedestrian bridge design process.

A five-tiered concept system defines the parameters for available bridge design selection. Basic, Classic, Novel, International, and Visionary concept categories are defined by varied levels of architectural style and structural complexity.
ERD Structural Engineering Inc. offers clients additional assistance in outsourcing architectural, geotechnical, electrical, and civil design services. We also provide additional assistance in outsourcing on-site construction and building services.

Our Basic concept category is defined by simple, predesigned bridges with inexpensive and efficient outcomes. This category includes conventional girder bridges, aluminum and steel trusses, marine walkways, and temporary working bridges.
