ERD Structural Engineering Inc., offers a full range of structural engineering design services for bridges and bridge type structures. We provide detailed design and structural engineering services for steel plate girder bridges, concrete girder bridges, steel and concrete arch bridges, steel trusses, cable suspended bridges, as well as unique delta frame concrete bridges. We are registered members of the B.C. Ministry of Transportation eRISP, and over the last twenty years we have worked on a number of Ministry led, major multi-span river crossing bridge projects. These bridge projects have ranged from 120 m to 300 m in length. 

We also design railway bridges, forestry bridges, heavy industrial ramps, and work trestles. Our industrial ramp and trestle projects are frequently designed to accommodate heavy cranes, trucks, and equipment loading for marine applications.

Nass River Bridge

The Nass River Bridge replacement project is a steel plate girder highway bridge, spanning 74 m in length across the Nass River, with a total length of 145 m, located near Stewart, British Columbia. This project was commissioned by the B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, and completed in 2019. Detailed structural design and field review services were completed by Stantec Consulting Ltd. (primary consultant) and ERD Structural Engineering Inc. (subcontractor for superstructure design). Geotechnical design services were provided by the B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. Please contact us if you wish to learn more about our project involvement.

Quartz Creek Bridge

The Quartz Creek Bridge replacement project was commissioned by the B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure in 2019. This four lane, steel plate girder highway bridge is located approximately 40 km west of Golden, British Columbia. Detailed structural design and field review services were completed by Stantec Consulting Ltd. (primary consultant), and ERD Structural Engineering Inc. (subcontractor for superstructure design). Geotechnical design was provided by Golder Associates Inc. Project construction is currently underway.

Shelter Island Marina - 75 T Capacity

Travelift Pier

Our latest lift project features a 75 T capacity steel travelift pier, located at the Shelter Island Marina in Richmond, British Columbia. ERD Structural Engineering Inc. provided all structural engineering services for the project, including detailed design of the pier for mobile boat hoist and field review services. Project construction was completed in 2013.

Shelter Island Marina - 220 T Capacity Travelift Pier Upgrade 

 

Our second collaboration with the Shelter Island Marina featured a capacity upgrade to an existing travelift pier. ERD Structural Engineering Inc. completed all engineering services for the upgrade, providing a new lift capacity of 220 T for mobile boat hoist. Project construction was completed in 2013.
